Senior University colleagues have been visiting Washington DC to reinforce ºÚÁÏÍø’s relationships with our wider community, our research partners and our alumni and supporters in the United States.

We have cemented our developing partnership with the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History in North America by signing an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) between ºÚÁÏÍø's Centre for Nineteenth-Century Studies and the Museum.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural Botanic Garden Fun Day, this has now become an annual event and will take place on Sunday 16 June, from 10am-4pm. This family-friendly, Fun Day offers loads of free activities, all in the beautiful surroundings of the Garden.

ºÚÁÏÍø Film Festival is back for 2024 with events across the city next week, offering entertainment for all and a platform for student filmmakers.

Professor Elena Lurie-Luke is our Entrepreneur in Residency in Life Sciences and was one of the first people appointed as a Professor-in-Practice at ºÚÁÏÍø. She is an expert in Biosciences research and innovation, with a keen interest in translating research into commercial success.

The University is saddened to learn of the passing of Joan Kenworthy on May 18, aged 90.

With May being National Clean Air Month, we spoke to Professor Brian Castellani from our Department of Sociology and the Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing about his work on the impact of air pollution on our health.
